Friday Dharma Class

I recently took over the president position of Rushi Youth Group  ( a buddhist youth club). I can feel that the pressure is building up. We have a Vesak celebration coming in 3 weeks time. I am in charge of 2 performances...One of them are not looking too good because I don't have time to teach the kids myself.

Anyway, so every friday we have a dharma class held in university. We recently changed the structure of the class which aim to involves new members in organizing.

I am looking forward to this week's Friday Dharma Class (FDC). We have spent a fair bit of time in planning and preparation. Hopefully everything goes well. =)

Earth on my hand

Original picture

I spent a bloody good 15 minutes trying to get the earth right..I "cut & paste" the earth using paint..I miss my Photoshop programme but my laptop can't support it.

I need a desktop!!!

Do you like the picture?? Please feel free to comment

My palm size mirror

Initially, I wanted to take a picture of my iphone...
Then I realised, my phone works perfectly as a mirror. So i decided to take a picture of my camera instead..

If I were to use this picture as an advertisement, the slogan would be
" Find a DSLR camera in your phone"
LOLZ...
I should propose this to Apple Company.

Stock and Investment

Why am I writing this today?

While I am writing this post, I am sitting beside two amateur share investers sharing their experience in share trading. Both of them are talking "warren buffet"..

Looking at current inflation rate, it is pretty hopeless to put all your hard earn money in fixed deposit and hoping for the money to grow in order to retain the future buying power. Therefore it seems to be a trend of people venture into investment and share trading.

They are talking about earning per share, dividend per share, working capital, etc etc..and more foreign terms..

Mind you,

One man is over 62 years old, another man is 26 years old..

So today, I found out a new way to eliminate generation gap between men..

Talk about money and investment. These two fellows beside me remind me of a book

" RICH DAD POOR DAD"

Rainy day

The rain was pouring just a couple of minutes ago. I have never taken a picture on a rainy day. Maybe I should give it a shot and see if I can snap some emotional pictures..

Attempt 1

Attempt 2

After looking at these pictures, I think
My photo taking skill suck...

Mini Business Ideas?

During my usual catch up with a friend of mine, we were talking about how graduates these days find it hard to get a full time job. One good example is myself. A half-employed health professional. What a shame.

So somehow we came to the topic of venture into business. Then, we came out with a list of possible businesses. I am more interested in home-based business, work from home or business that requires small model .

We talked about:

Ideas
1) Take away sandwich shop - no model at the moment, not ready for it
2) Ironing services- I hate ironing. What if I burnt someone's branded cloth
3) Private tutoring - Done it successfully in Malaysia. Not sure bout in Australia. Maybe I could consider it
4) Tax return accountant - Need to study an accounting course
5) Certified translator - Again, need to take another course but considering it.
6) Event planner - Too stressful
7) Beauty field - "Look at my face I will scare the customers away," I said
8) Catering service - I think my cooking skill is just so-so. On top of that, I am a vegetarian, I have limited knowledge in meat handling
9) Organic healthy vegetarian cafe - Again, average cooking skill. No money to start one
10) Photography - Not an expert, just amatuer. But signed up for shutterstock support.

Then my friend started to ask me a series of questions which I only remember the following:
1) What is your interest? - I don't know, I am okay with everything
2) what are you good at?- "You tell me what I am good at?"

In conclusion, I will continue to be an employee for now..

The Bald trend

Inspired by Leukeamia Foundation, a couple (TWO) of men around me have shaved their hair BALD. Not to raise fund ( as the charity event has passed), but more for experience, fun and also to have a taste of change.

Someone asked me, "so when will be your turn?"
I replied " not until I find a nice wig"

Anyway, it seems like the trend is going strong, the number of "bald-ies" around me is likely to increase.

A picture for laugh : Chun-li ( street fighter character) and a bald guy trying to comb his invisible hair..Hahahaha

THAT Bloody Taxi Driver

I met a bloody idiot taxi driver on the road just several minutes ago, who has successfully spoiled my mood for dinner. That idiot was chasing after my car, flashing headlights when I was driving 60km/h along Payneham road. What a bastard! He then took over me on the right lane ( I was driving on the left of course). That idiot snarled at me and was glaring at me. What is wrong in his mind? He is a classic bad example of a taxi driver.

I wonder why these taxi drivers drive like a mad cow. ( Please note : I am refering to those taxi drivers who drive with no sense, don't get offended if you are not one of them. And if you fall under this category, then you deserve to be called an idiot on the road)

It is not uncommon that these idiots create danger to the public on the road. I wonder how they pass the known-to-be-strict-australia-on -the-road-test ( failing rate in SA is about 1 in 3 apparently). I wish I could remember the car plate or snap a good photo of him and post it on facebook/tweeter/ youtube/chain email. He really pissed me off.

As I was driving home after the incident, I wished I am a police officer.

Imagine after all those uncivilised acts that he has done, I place a siren on my car, instruct him to stop aside and place a fine right onto his face.

Of course, this imagination fails to put off the flame in my heart. ** ANGRY ANGRY!!!!**

PIctures Of Memories

One of the disadvantage about renting a house is - YOU CANNOT NAIL THEIR WALL

Over the years, I have taken many pictures, capturing those happy moments that I have spent with my friends and family. Although most of my friends like to keep their pictures on Facebook. I prefer to keep some of the hard copy ones.

So, the only way I could put my pictures on the wall nicely without nailing, is to do a collage...Basically, get a cardboard, stick your pictures "artistically" ( or another word, randomly), get some white sticky tack, and stuck the final piece on the wall.

I developed my pictures and bought the cardboard over a month ago. I was too lazy to do it. Finally it is done and it took me under 15 minutes to complete it.

Simple and nice =)

La Borsa Italia

There is a famous saying

" Men are from mars, Women are from venus"

Men, in general have minimal understanding on women's shopping habits. I ,belonging the female category, sometimes find ourselves unreadable.

While men would spend thousands and thousands of dollars in cars, and electronic gadgets, women could easily spend entire of their salaries on cloths, shoes and of course HANDBAGS..

As I was talking to some of the more mature ladies ( in terms of age, hehehehe) in Malaysia, I was shocked to find out how much they are  willing to spend on Branded bags..1K?2K? An old friend of mine revealed me to me that she only buys LV. My last conversation with her was back in year 2007, in her early twenties, she owned more than 10 LV bags..Her mother had invested 12K in A LV BAG.
A = ONE = 1 = SATU!!!...
(3-4 months salary of a normal working people in Malaysia)

Although a girl like me will never understand the need to spend so much on a handbags, I do honestly find it nice to own one or two of the "cheaper range" ( ie below 3K).

My sister-in-law is a classic example of branded bag expert. She recently turned her passion of window shopping into a small business, which I would like to advertise here ( if someone ever reads it)

La Borsa Italia ” means the Italian Bag, inspire a true story of a shopaholic full time Malaysian mummy in Italy whom share the common feminine lifestyle, “ Window Shopping ”.

This is a website that you should visit if you are looking for a genuine branded handbags with more affordable price.

TADA!! The founder of La Borsa Italia is working hard again with my mom
I have seen worse, no kidding

TODAY's MY BIRTHDAY!

"Today's my birthday!!" said the youngshu.blogspot.com ( the blog, not the blogger )

Please note that this blog is not named after my name.

Why Youngshu then??

Initially, I wanted to create a name that combines me and my boyfriend's name. So it should be "youngsu".
Unfortunately, the ID "youngsu" has been taken by someone else.  So I thought just add a "h" then.

I think Youngshu is a good name. It means "facebook". HUH??? (what talking you)

Some people pronounce my boyfriend's name as "Yong" instead of "young"(opposite meaning of old) for one obvious reason - he is Chinese . Anyway, in cantonese "Yong" = "face" + Shu" = "book". So it means "facebook".

I won't be surprised if people make fun of this name.EG:

YongSui - face problem
YongShu -can also mean "lose face/ face lose, whatever"

Well, as long as it is easy to remember...I don't mind.
